Morrisons in Westbury took part in the Race For Life for Cancer Research in June last year.
Lisa Litterick, community champion for Wm Morrison Supermarkets said, “We raised over £900 through sponsorship for the race between the eight of us that took part under the name ‘Morrisons Mates’.
The day was an amazingly emotional and rewarding one and an event we were all proud to be included in.
“Once I got back to work I applied to the Morrisons Foundation to match our funding, and after a long wait I received a cheque for £734 to add to our fundraising total for Cancer Research.
“I got in contact with the Charity who were extremely happy to receive this cheque and as a colleague had battled cancer during 2015 it meant a lot to all staff to make a big deal of this. We met with a volunteer from the Westbury branch on Monday 25th January and presented the cheque in our foyer for customers to see.
“This year we aim to beat the £1639 that we raised for Cancer Research during 2015. A small group is entering the Race for Life in Bath on 12th June and a very large group is taking part in the Pretty Muddy event in Bath during September.”
