LOCAL taxi company ACE Taxis, will launch a new service running to the RUH in Bath on June 13th that will pick up and drop off in Westbury.
In 2015, Wiltshire Council announced the withdrawal of the RUH Hopper Service. A petition was launched to save the service but was unsuccessful and on Friday 10th June, the service will stop.
Paul Allensby from ACE taxis said, “When we found out the petition had been unsuccessful, I decided to do some research into the use of the current service. I found that the service is a valuable door to door service for those that find it difficult to reach public transport or are unable to use public transport.
“The new service starts on Monday 13th June covering pick ups and drop offs in Westbury, Warminster and Trowbridge using one minibus to start with. If the demand is there we will look at increasing the area and number of buses operated in the future.
“We are receiving no funding by the council but we have still tried to make the price as low as possible. “
This service can be booked online at www.warminstertaxi.com or by calling 01985 80 70 70.
