THE Active Retirement Club (ARC) of Westbury, celebrated its first meeting of the year with a reunion at its new venue at the Horse & Groom public house in Alfred Street on Tuesday 8th March.
Organisers say, “Everyone was very enthusiastic at once again meeting their friends and acquaintances after the various lockdowns due to the Covid pandemic over the past 2 years. We all enjoyed a very warm and convivial atmosphere along with a splendid luncheon.”
Bob Musker, landlord of the Horse & Groom said, “I am very pleased to welcome Westbury’s, popular ARC to our premises for both their luncheons and meetings going forward. I believe we can offer all the facilities required for them to grow and build their club which has been in the town for well over 40 years. I would like to wish the ARC every success for the future.”
The chairman, Bruce Hewitson, outlined a full diary of future talks and social events for the year ahead and the evening concluded with the customary raffle.
The next scheduled meeting will take place on 19th April at the Horse & Groom. Guests can enjoy two club meetings for free before deciding if they want to join. Membership costs £10 a month. If you would like to join the ARC, or would like to find out more please call Mark on 01373 823826.
