OVER £500 was raised towards funds for All Saints Church at its first open day since last year – and the doors are now open every day for visitors to enjoy the church.
More than 100 people attended the event on Saturday 24th July, with people climbing up to the ringing chamber and exploring the church with its new information banners, whilst savouring home baking and refreshments.
Churchwarden, Beth Thomas said, “We were able to demonstrate our new screen and projector. These were supported by grants from the Allchurches Trust and the Westbury Community Area Board.
“John Knapp’s Belgian Fairground Organ provided uplifting music which brought a smile to passers-by and those who came to visit.”
The church thanked all the volunteers who helped make the day possible by assisting or providing home baking.
Beth said, “We’d particularly like to thank the team of helpers from the Westbury branch of Rotary International for supporting us.
“The weather wasn’t on our side, but those that came really enjoyed themselves with many commenting on the welcome they received, as well as the beauty of our church building.
“We were pleased to raise over £500 towards church funds.”
