ALL SAINTS Church in Westbury is holding three art workshops in the church for young people aged eight and over this February half term, at no cost!
Each workshop will last approximately three hours and will explore a different art form such as clay, felt and printmaking and everyone will create something inspired by the church building.
Clay Workshop with Jo Taylor, Monday 21 February 10am – 1pm. Clay together is a clay workshop for both children and their adults to make and decorate tiles or pots inspired by the beautiful church of All Saints.
Felt Workshop led by Sam Perry, Tuesday 22 February 10am – 1pm. Explore the beautiful church of All Saints and create a felt picture inspired by what you see. All materials provided.
Print Making Workshop led by Linn O’Carroll, Thursday 24 February 2pm – 5pm. Explore the beautiful church of All Saints in Westbury and learn how to make a print inspired by what you see. All materials provided. Don’t forget to wear something you don’t mind getting messy!
Revd Rebecca Harris, team rector said, “Our summer workshops for older people were a great success and we enjoyed welcoming new people into the church. People were really inspired by what they saw around them, and we were really impressed by what everyone created. It’s a great way to explore the beautiful building of All Saints, the oldest building in Westbury. We are really looking forward to welcoming young people into the church this half-term”
Beth Thomas, churchwarden added, “There is so little for young people in Westbury. We are pleased that our grant from the Adhelm Fund has enabled us to hold these workshops this half-term in the wonderful community space that All Saints Church provides. We hope that these will be the first of many in the future.”
Children must be accompanied by an adult who will be encouraged to get involved and take part and there will be refreshments available. The workshops are free with all equipment provided. This is thanks to a grant from the Diocese of Salisbury’s Adhelm Mission Fund.
