WESTBURY Community Fridge is looking for extra volunteers to collect food from local stores or to help stock the fridge.
Organisers say, “The Westbury Community Fridge has been open for almost a year and during this time, it has managed to save around five tonnes of food waste from going to landfill, which is all made possible due to the hard work and commitment by the volunteers.
“The demand for the food is ever increasing which in turn increases the workload put on the volunteers to collect the food and stock the fridge.
“The community fridge is in need of some extra volunteers who are able to collect food from local stores, Aldi in Westbury and Lidl in Westbury, during the week usually in the mornings between 9am and 1pm. If you do not have transport, then perhaps you could help out with stocking the fridge with the food that another volunteer has collected.
“If you have a few hours a week spare and are interested in joining up, or would like more information, then please contact Kieran on 01373 822232 or email info@westburytown council.gov.uk
