CHILDREN, parents, and staff of Westbury Infant School are celebrating an excellent OFSTED report following their inspection in November last year.
This is the first inspection since the school received a GOOD outcome in February 2017 and it confirms that “Westbury Infant School continues to be a good school”.
Headteacher, Stacey Budge says, “We are delighted with the outcome of our inspection and the accompanying report, which we believe is an accurate reflection of our school. This is a testament to the incredibly hard work of our staff, who go over and above every day to ensure that the children attending Westbury Infant School receive the very best possible start to their education.
“We are particularly pleased that the inspector recognised the strong family ethos of the school and the additional emotional support given to children and their families, alongside academic rigour. As headteacher I am incredibly proud of our school, which places the children at the very heart of everything we do.”
Some key comments from the report include: “Pupils are happy and enjoy school. They are kind, friendly and play well together. Pupils say that bullying is rare; they are confident that when they report a problem, staff deal with it quickly.
“Pupils feel safe. Relationships between staff and pupils are positive. Leaders place a strong emphasis on supporting pupils’ social and emotional well-being. Many parents recognise and praise the school’s work. They talk positively about the way staff help children to thrive emotionally and academically.
“Leaders create a culture where everyone cares and supports one another. Pupils understand the importance of treating others with respect. Leaders are ambitious for the school’s future. Staff and leaders work well together, and the staff are proud to work at the school.”
The school is planning a special treat for the children to celebrate the news.
