WESTBURY’S branch of the Royal British Legion will now meet at the Horse and Groom on Alfred Street.
After 34 years of meeting at the Conservative Club, the group has announced a change of venue, taking effect immediately. The Royal British Legion meet on the first Monday of each month at 8.00pm, now at the Horse and Groom Inn.
Eddie Bridges, chairman of the branch said, “I’d like to thank the Horse and Groom for letting us use the venue. I’d also like to encourage people to join us at the British Legion meetings; new members are always welcome!”
The Westbury branch raised £7,428 from last year’s Poppy Appeal, and regularly hold fundraising stalls at the street fayre and other local events.
