A LOCAL lady is organising a charity golf day on the 24th July to raise money and awareness for the British Heart Foundation.
In 2009, Linda Penney’s husband suffered a heart attack and was rushed to hospital where they kept his heart going. One week later he underwent a quadruple heart by-pass which saved his life.
“It was with the help and support from the British Heart Foundation and an amazing surgeon that we got through this difficult time.
“They gave me a room so I could be at his side until he was allowed to go home. Their support got me through every day”
To thank them for the wonderful work they do and to help fund their research, Linda has organised a charity golf day at Cumberwell Park Golf Club.
“Previous golf days for other charities have been a success and raised over £15,000. I am very proud of what I have achieved so far. I would like to top this amount for the British Heart Foundation and so I am asking for help to achieve my goal.
“We need your help to raise as much money as possible for the charity. So, if you play golf and would like to enter a team or if you would kindly donate items for our auction or sponsor the event, please get in contact.
“Without the charity, I may not have my wonderful husband with me today.”
