WESTBURY Lions’ Christmas float raised £7,259 over December which will be used to help the local community.
Collectors and volunteers pounded the streets alongside Father Christmas, visiting families in Westbury.
Despite the challenging weather, which saw some routes cancelled, the Lions club raised almost £1,000 more than the previous year. In 2018, the float raised a total of £6,400.
Lions’ president, Michelle Strout said, “The Christmas Santa float total this year is an outstanding £7,259.
“We all at Westbury Lions Club would like to thank everyone who donated to this incredible amount and to know many families and good causes will be greatly touched by their generosity.
“I also would like to say we had a fantastic team of collectors this year both Westbury Lions and friends of and I am so very thankful for all your hard work.
“We may have been hampered by the weather but your spirits were never dampened and we pretty much covered all routes.
“To everyone in our local community, Westbury Lions wishes you all a very happy and healthy new year.”
