THE Westbury Methodist Church monthly soup and pud lunch team recently donated £500 to Alzheimer’s Support which was raised from donations given to the group throughout the year.
On the first Friday of the month from September until May, members of the church serve soup and pud lunches with a selection of home-made soups and puddings, cheese/biscuits and tea/coffee for which donations are invited. This raises funds for the church as well as a local charity, which is currently Alzheimer’s Support.
At the May soup and pud lunch, on Friday 5th May. 45 members, friends and supporters celebrated the crowning of King Charles III with a coronation celebration lunch.
The organisers of the event said, “On the day we offered coronation chicken, salmon mousse, quiches, a selection of salads, homemade puddings, cheese and biscuits, tea/coffee and mints. Donations given throughout the year means we can now send £500 to local Alzheimer’s Support groups. Our thanks go to everyone involved as well as to those who have supported us giving so generously.”
