A coach trip to Weymouth with pick ups in Westbury and Warminster has been organised by Westbury’s Imperial Charity.
This will be their fifth trip so far this year with another two or three still to come. The trip will be on Wednesday 23rd September and the tickets are just £5 with adults and children with special needs going free. Pick up points and timings are printed on the tickets.
“Join us for a great day at the seaside” said Bob Summerfield from Imperial Charity. “Weymouth is one of our most popular destinations with a fabulous beach and the world- famous sand sculptures
“Tickets for each trip are available normally 2-3 weeks prior to the date of departure and can be obtained from Imperial Charity’s shop on Warminster Road or from the Hub (Mobility Centre) in Warminster.”
Imperial Charity was founded in 1990 and celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. They opened their first shop on Warminster Road in 2007 and now have three shops co-located with each other.
“All the net profits from the charity are used throughout the county of Wiltshire,” added Bob. “We sponsor special needs schools and provide coach trips and variety shows for senior citizens and people with special needs.
“We also pay for entertainment in care and nursing homes throughout Wiltshire which is proving to be very popular.
“While we are a small charity we have a lovely band of dedicated volunteers who help out in the shops and with without whom we couldn’t manage.
“We have found people have been exceptionally generous in donating their unwanted furniture and electrical items; they are always of very good quality and are sold very quickly. We are therefore always looking for more donations to sell in our shops.
“If anyone is interested in donating goods then please call 01373 826826 or pop into the shop at 27 Warminster Road.”
