WESTBURY Town Council continues to oppose an application for 102 dwelling houses and apartments on Station Road.
The town council opposed the original application last year, but it has since been amended and resubmitted by Persimmon Homes. The application concerns land bordering the railway and Station Road at Westbury North Junction.
At the meeting of the Highways, Planning and Development Committee of the town council on Monday 7th February, the council objected to the application on the grounds of “gross overdevelopment”, as well as raising concerns that there is inadequate parking provision, asking for at least two spaces per dwelling.
Concerns were also raised that the ground level of the far eastern end of the site is significantly higher than the land in Paxmans Road, which could cause significant loss of amenity to nearby properties which may be overlooked and lose sunlight.
