WONDERFUL weather encouraged an excellent turn out at the Edington scarecrow walk, which this year had a Disney theme.
The event raised a new record of £400 for local charities Dorothy House and Edington Parish Hall.
The best scarecrow was voted ‘Carl’ from the Disney Pixar movie ‘Up’ which was made by the Steeple Ashton Brownie pack. The Raymond family’s scarecrow, ‘Pinocchio’, was voted a very close second.
Emily, Sophie and Ruari from Edington managed to identify the most scarecrows and their films, with the Perret family from Westbury coming a close second.
Emma Evans and Sarah Marshall, organisers of the event said, “We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who made the event possible including those who made a scarecrow, our sponsors Edington Station Yard and Hi-Q Ltd, the staff at the Three Carrots Farm Shop and all the fantastic volunteers who made cakes and helped out on the day.”
