WESTBURY and District u3a is planning a celebration and open event for its tenth anniversary after having to postpone last year due to Covid.
Chris Crosby, branch publicity officer, said, “With all our fingers crossed we are planning to hold a late celebration combined with an open event on August 21st 11-2pm at the Paragon Hall.
“Government restrictions allowing, we hope to showcase what our organisation does as there has been feedback that the title u3a, including the word ‘university’, can be misleading. We are focusing on three activities: learn, laugh and live, which as a group we do very well.
“Several organisations will be showcasing how they can support older people with advice and support.
“Please check out the National u3a website: www.u3a.org.uk/ to find out more about what you can expect from your local u3a branch in Westbury!”
