PEOPLE in Westbury can look forward to getting back into swimming when Westbury Pool re-opens on Monday 10th June.
To celebrate the re-opening, free sessions are being offered on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June as a thank you to regular swimmers for their patience during the maintenance works. Wiltshire Council, in partnership with DC Leisure which manages the facility on the council’s behalf, will be offering the free swimming sessions for all members of the community.
The swimming pool has been closed since March after problems arose following maintenance work which took place last year.
Jonathan Seed, Wiltshire Council cabinet member for leisure said, “Westbury pool is an important part of the local community and we are delighted to announce the re-opening and the free swimming weekend. I’m sure the local community will come out and support this historic pool as they have always done.”
Keith Evans, contract manager for DC Leisure said, “We are pleased to be working in partnership with Wiltshire Council to manage this much-valued, local resource. We are ready to welcome back former pool users and look forward to meeting new members when the doors open next week.”
