NEW Westbury town councillor and novice cyclist David Anderson had a fundraising boost for his 346-mile cycle in May, after collecting at Morrisons supermarket last month.
Cllr Anderson will be cycling from Geneva to Monaco in May in aid of the Hearts and Minds autism charity. He recently set up a turbo trainer outside Morrisons in Warminster to help raise sponsorship.
David said, “With the help of my wife Amy, sons Ashton and Lucas, generous shoppers, and too many others to list, we raised a whopping £403.96!
“I cycled the equivalent of 100 miles in five hours on the turbo trainer in the foyer of the Warminster Morrisons.
“Training for the big ride is going well; I’m now cycling the equivalent of 30 miles every night.”
Cllr Anderson swapped smoking for cycling last year in order to complete the challenge, which will see him cycle an average of 86 miles per day for four days in May.
He is now just £77 shy of his £1,600 fundraising target. You can help sponsor his effort at www.mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/davidanderson2.
