WESTBURY Leigh Primary School are celebrating their first Ofsted inspection to return ‘Good’ ratings across the board, since checks began 23 years ago.
Ofsted were impressed with the progress the school has made over the last four years and commented on the high quality of provision available to children who come to the school.
Under the ambitious and dedicated leadership of the current headteacher, Mrs Debbie Grimsey, children are now receiving a good education that enables them to be the best they can be, and prepares them well for the next stage of their education.
Children said that they felt their learning was improving and that they had a good idea of how they could further improve, thanks to the effective feedback given to them by teachers.
Parents supported the school wholeheartedly and felt their children were kept safe and were making good progress.
Headteacher Debbie Grimsey said, “This is the result of the work and commitment our staff show on a daily basis.
“Moving to ‘good’ has taken the school through a number of changes, all of which have contributed to the fantastic provision children are now receiving.
“We have an amazing team of skilled professionals who put children at the heart of learning and as a result, the children in our care are thriving and succeeding at amazing rates.”
Governors are delighted with the result and have commended the work of the headteacher and her team in achieving this historical first for the school.
Westbury Leigh is currently one of the top performing schools in Westbury with a track record of high academic achievements alongside the development of dynamic individuals who thrive at secondary school.
