THE local Westbury and Warminster Guide Dog group held a yard sale on the weekend of 12th and 13th June, and stayed open for a couple of days after that.
Thanks to the support from local people it was a huge success and they raised an amazing £1,010! The glorious weather certainly helped too!
Hilary Reed, who organised the event, wanted the White Horse News to thank everyone who came along and bought items from the sale or donated money for a cuppa and slice of homemade cake.
Hilary said, “The Guide Dog for the Blind Association receives virtually no government funding so relies on the generosity of the public to raise much needed funds. Each guide dog costs £56k from cradle to grave and none of us know if we, or a family member, might need the assistance of a dog in the future.
“We are incredibly lucky that local people are extremely generous and always support this particular charity, even through the pandemic.”
