IRONWORX gym on Station Road will be holding a fundraiser this Friday night for Trowbridge boxer Nick Blackwell.
On Friday the 22nd April to Saturday 23rd of April (8pm-8am), the gym will be hosting a sponsored event that will see 20 people try to complete a workout every hour for 12 hours.
The gym’s Lee Salter said, “Nick was severely injured at the end of March in a high profile boxing match against Chris Eubank Jnr. Nick was placed in a induced coma for a week to help him recover, but is now awake and on the mend.
“He has helped local facilities, been to many events and personally helped my brother and family through a tough place in the past. We are determined to repay Nick for his support and are calling on our local community to return the kindness.
“At 8am, Saturday 23rd of April, we would love for as many people as possible to come along for the final workout and to get in a large group photo that will be part of Nick’s gift.”
There are limited spaces available in the fundraiser, but to find out more or to donate to the appeal, contact Lee on 07860 569974 or lee.ironworx@me.com
