THE children of PC Mike Johnson, who served the community in Westbury until he died suddenly last August, have received an award in his honour.
Alice and Alexander Johnson collected their father’s award for long service and good conduct at the Wiltshire Police Award Ceremony, held at The Corn Exchange, Devizes. The award, which recognised 22 years of service, was presented to the teenagers by the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, John Bush.
PC Johnson collapsed at Westbury Police Station after jogging to work last August. Sadly, the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) beat manager for Westbury’s rural area died before reaching the Royal United Hospital by air ambulance. PC Johnson is still remembered as a popular and visible presence in the community who was dedicated to his work.
