MAYOR of Westbury, cllr Christine Mitchell, sends the following Christmas message to the readers of the White Horse News:
“2010 is now drawing to a close and it certainly has been an eventful year in Westbury – the new health centre has now got its planning permission, our swimming pool has become a listed building, the refurbishment of the Laverton is proving very successful and our summer street fayre and concert were amazing.
“The ‘Christmas lights switch-on’ went very well and is only the beginning of the very many events taking place leading up to Christmas.
“Our thanks should be given to all the people who willingly give up their time to help out behind the scenes and take part in the events that are held throughout the year; these events would not take place without our volunteers!
“We should also think of our neighbours and people less fortunate, who may be without family and friends to support them at this time.
“I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2011.”
