THE winners of this year’s Christmas Window competition have been announced, with Andrea’s Flowers taking first place.
The competition, run by Westbury’s Chamber of Commerce, was judged by a group of pupils from Matravers School. Along with David Jenkins, chair of Westbury Chamber of Commerce, pupils Hanna, Shane, Georgia, Shannon, and Ellen toured the town on Tuesday 7th December before reaching a final decision.
Andrea’s Flowers, the florist in the High Street, was awarded first prize for its festive window display of a Christmas tree and floral arch. Second place was awarded to John Preddy’s Chemist in the High Street, while third prize went to Imperial Charity.
David Jenkins, chair of Westbury Chamber of Commerce said, “Some of the displays have been really good, there’s been a lot of effort. 25 shops in the town put on a display as such, although it would be nice to see one or two more join in.
“The children from Matravers came along and did the judging for us, and gave us plenty of support which was really good. It’s the children who decide who’s going to win.”
