THE Location of Westbury’s new post office is still up in the air but the White Horse News has learned that the Co-op is one of four possible sites currently under consideration.
Store manager Simon Bush said, “It’s not 100%, we’ve just applied for it and there are three other outlets in Westbury who have applied for it as well. We haven’t had confirmation yet whether we’ll get it or not.”
Town councillors working in conjunction with the Post Office are keeping a tight lid on where the other three locations are, but an unofficial source said they believed that the Co-op was favourite to win the contract.
A spokesperson for the Post Office said, “We are working hard to restore Post Office services to the local community as soon as possible and are currently working with interested parties. We would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by this temporary closure.”
