Westbury’s historic Market Place will be home to a French themed event and market on Saturday 30th April.
Continuing the successful French themed markets, the town council, in partnership with Wiltshire Council, will be holding another all-day French event in the Market Place this Bank Holiday weekend.
Mayor of Westbury, cllr Christine Mitchell said, “The French and Italian markets held in the Market Place in recent times have proved to be very successful, and the Market Place has been a lovely venue for the Street Fayre and the Christmas events. It is an ideal location for public events and we hope to see more of these taking place in the future”
There will be a wide variety of French food stalls from last year’s ‘Marche de France’, as well as Fairtrade goods for sale, hot food available, and children’s rides. In addition, it is hoped that businesses based in and around the Market Place will once again join in on the theme.
The event will be opened at 10.00am on the day by cllr Christine Mitchell, the Mayor of Westbury together, it is hoped, with visitors from Westbury’s twin town in France, Chateau du Loir.
