A BY-ELECTION for the Ham Ward of Westbury Town Council has been called, and is expected to take place on the 17th November.
The vacancy on the town council arose after the resignation of Mike Hawkins, and 10 electors were required to request an election, a requirement that has been fulfilled.
Nomination packs for candidates will be available from Thursday 13th October, and can be obtained from the town clerks or from Wiltshire Electoral Services, Monkton Park, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN15 1ER.
Candidates must return their nomination papers to Wiltshire Electoral Services in Chippenham during office hours Monday to Friday from Friday 14th October. The deadline for nominations is noon on Friday 21st October.
The deadline for postal vote application forms is 2nd November, and for proxy application forms, 9th November.
