PUPILS and teachers at Westbury Junior School are excited to see their new extension taking shape, with completion of the work expected in December.
The new extension will replace two old mobile classrooms with four new classrooms attached to the main school block, as well as additional toilet facilities. The improvements will also allow the school to become a base for the Extended Schools Services for Westbury and Warminster.
So far, rewiring of the whole school has taken place and the school now has a new entrance.
Headteacher Richard Hatt said, “Over the summer there’s been a flurry of activity. The whole school has been rewired, we’ve also managed to build a new entrance to the school, and the main building is going well – the walls are up, the roof is on, and we hope to be finished at the beginning of December.
“We can really see it taking shape now. I’m getting lots of lobbying in the staff room as to which teachers will move into the new classrooms!”
