Ladies of Westbury! Do you enjoy watching rugby? Have you ever thought about giving it a go? Well now’s your chance.
Westbury Ladies Rugby Club will be entering its third season this September, and are on the lookout for new players of all abilities. The team is holding a development day for all players, whether new to the game or just a little rusty.
The day will take place on Saturday 9th August and will have a non-contact training session, a barbecue, games in the afternoon, and a bar available.
Fly-half Rebecca Lamb said, “The team is made up of a great mixture of ladies of all ages and experience, who pride themselves on enjoying the social side of the game as well as the rugby itself.
“On their summer tour last year they came an excellent runner-up in the plate competition, and their captain, Claire Bates, was acknowledged as the most sporting over the whole weekend.
“They are also immensely proud of their full-back Lana Plummer who, after attending England 7s trials in the summer, has been invited to attend regional trials for this coming season.
“The team has a fantastic structure developing thanks to the hard work and commitment of all the girls, their committee, and the coaches, and are always on the look out for new players.”
The development day, which is open to all, will take place at the White Horse Country Park on Saturday 9th August at 11.00am.
