IT’S full steam ahead for the Westbury Shed project which is holding its first meeting of the year tomorrow, Friday 15th January.
“The shed is a place where men can share tools, advice, and materials to work on projects of their choosing,” says its chairman Dan Gmaj. “And 2016 promises to be a great year!
“The interest in our community project keeps on coming and I have met some amazing, inspirational people in the short time it has been in existence.
“Our next meeting on Friday 15th of January is open to all and will be a casual discussion and a ‘Meet the Shedders’ session. We are in the process of producing some promotional media to explain how the Shed works and to help spread the word too. I am also forging useful links with some other local shed groups and community support organisations.
“If this is striking a chord with you, even if you are thinking that it may suit someone you know, then please come and check out the Westbury Shed in 2016. With a name and e-mail address we can keep you up to date with all that we are planning and the decision to get more involved always remains with you. Please email westburyshed @gmail.com
“Pressure and expectation have no place in the Shed. It’s all about people and how to have fun, which makes all of our days just a little brighter.
“I hope to see you at the Leigh Park Community Centre on Friday January 15th, 10am-1pm. This arrangement will provisionally continue on the third Friday of each month.
“The Shed will offer a small escape from monotonous routine and will provide the environment to help re-inject some motivation and thus, hopefully, a little magic into your week while you work on a project or just talk to others.”
