MATRAVERS School is celebrating moving up over 400 places in the secondary school performance tables that were released last week.
The tables published by The Department of Education show 55% of students at Matravers achieved five or more A* – C GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and maths. This is up by 6% on last year’s figures.
Matravers has moved up over 400 places in the league table and are above national average in all key measures.
Matravers has made rapid improvements over the last few years and is now in the top 30% of schools in the country.
Headteacher, Dr Simon Riding, is delighted with the results saying, “These results are based on the hard work and commitment of the whole school community in securing excellent outcomes for our students. Our students, staff and parents are rightly proud of all they achieved.
“On the back of our ‘good with outstanding features’ Ofsted report in 2015 and planned significant site improvements, we are confident that results will continue to rise this year. Matravers is well on its way to delivering our “world-class” education provision for Westbury and surrounding areas.”
