Matravers School is delighted to announce that this term they received a gift of a 3D printer which now allows them to prepare the students for the world of work outside Matravers.
This new piece of machinery and the materials will be used in lessons by all students from year 7 to 6th Form. The school will be running after school sessions to give students taster lessons.
Ceri Byrne, Head of Design said, “Matravers School would like to thank Nigel Coward for gifting us a 3D printer and Steve Vicks International Ltd for donating the filament to run the machine on. Without their generosity this would have taken a long time to raise the money required. So from all the staff and students of the Design Department, a huge thank you. Katherine James our Design Technician has also been instrumental in securing the funding.”
The school hopes using the machine will inspire future designers and engineers in Westbury.
