A memorial bench has been installed in Westbury to commemorate well-known resident Graham ‘Grassy’ Freeman who died earlier this year.
His brothers approached Westbury Town Council asking if a bench could be placed in Graham’s memory.
Town clerk Keith Harvey said, “When approached, I explained that Westbury Town Council has over the last three years replaced a number of benches and hope to complete the process in the next couple of years and it seemed fitting that we were replacing the one opposite the library this year where Graham could be seen regularly. Mr Freeman’s family agreed that this was an ideal spot for the memorial seat.”
Family members said that they wanted people who had known ‘Grassy’ to have somewhere to go to remember him.
Family members said, “He was well-known around town, was always sitting at various locations and had a smile on his face. On behalf of all the family we would like to thank all Grassy’s friends and family for donations for the bench.”
