LOCAL businessman, Martin Cox of Oaktree Joinery, has raised over £1,700 to help buy PPE masks for carers, care homes and hospices. The fundraising initiative was called ‘PPE for Caring Angels.”
Martin said, “In just over 5 weeks we managed to raise £1701.19 and, after all deductions were made and we helped four care homes and two hospices.
“The amount paid out was £1,407 and this has left us with £294.19 which we have donated to two very worthwhile Westbury causes.
“Firstly, Westbury’s very own caring angel in Karen Tilley, who has looked after Joss, her daughter, incredibly since the day she was born and secondly, The Carers Trust Fund.
“Josselin is 14 and was born with CHARGE syndrome; she is profoundly deaf and registered blind. She is fed through a feed tube and uses CPAP ventilation at night. She is a full time wheelchair user and has a range of other health conditions which make her vulnerable.
“Both Karen and Lee Tilley have to rely on fundraisers to help improve her standard of life and at present are working hard to improve her living arrangements to incorporate a bathroom within a bedroom for her on the bottom floor of their three-story house.
“We have therefore decided to donate £200 to Karen and Lee with the remainder of £94.19 to go to The Carers Trust Fund and feels like a fantastic way to finish this fundraising event.
“If you would further like to donate to help Karen Tilley a true Caring Angel and her family for Joss, I would be most grateful by using the link below.”
