100 years of the Morris car has been celebrated with a tour of 100 Wiltshire villages.
The first Morris car left the factory in Oxford on 29th March, 1913. A hundred years later, a group of local members from the South West branch of the Morris Register, the club for enthusiasts, marked the anniversary by touring 100 Wiltshire villages in their cars.
The tour set off on Sunday 21st July from Frome and drove through Chapmanslade shortly after. It then headed along the Wylye Valley and through Bratton before continuing its tour through the county.
Westbury organiser Tony Hale said, “23 cars aged between 1930 and 1948 entered the tour, with no incidents or breakdowns! 10 completed the 146 mile route, the rest took the option of going to the Atwell Wilson Motor Museum, around the half-way mark. Everyone was pleased with the day and glad they had entered.”
