WESTBURY Leos have elected a new president and vice president, Ethan Curtis and Ruby Thursby, to lead the club.
“Both were selected on merit of their presentations, which demonstrated their commitment and personal experiences helping the good causes and leadership within other youth organisations,” said Sarah Hiscocks from the Westbury Lions Club.
“President Ethan has been in and around the community for three years helping at Lions events such as the car show, donkey derby and Easter egg hunt. Ethan sees himself as a capable individual and with his experience believes he can take Westbury Leos forward to continue benefiting the community.
“Westbury Leos are an active, social, fun and independent group attached to Westbury Lions Club. Leo Lions welcome all young people, aged 12-18 years, who have the mindset to help others and develop leadership skills. Funds are raised for worthy causes in our community. They meet on the first Tuesday of each month in the United Reformed Church Hall at 7.30pm.
“Joining our Leos Club will help develop life skills, make friends and have a great time helping your community as part of a worldwide organisation.”
