BLUE Circle Bowls Club has finished the refurbishment of their pavilion ready for the start of the new bowls season.
A spokesperson for the club says, “Although the club had renewed our changing rooms over the last few years the pavilion had been looking a little tired, so the members thought it was time that we improved it. We successfully applied for a grant from the Landfill Community Trust for funding and would like to thank them for their support with our project.
“The ceiling was reboarded and replastered by a local firm JMS Plastering Services and Jayson and his colleague did a great job for us. Some of our bowlers then set to work on repainting the ceiling and walls of the pavilion and replaced the lighting, which made such a difference.
“We then employed another local firm, The Floor Smith, to take up the old pavilion carpet and relay new carpet tiles for us. What a great job they made, and the look of the pavilion has now totally changed.
“The club will open the bowls green on Saturday 13th April for members and will be holding a public open day on Saturday 20th April where everyone is welcome to come along and have a go at bowls.”
