LOCAL karate teacher Andy Wright has launched four new classes for the new year, all at Leigh Park Community Centre in Westbury.
The first is Reiki Jutsu, a Japanese karate-based style which promotes health, self discipline, fitness and confidence. The class will take place on Friday, 9-10am (children) and 10-11.30am (adults) and Sunday, 6-7pm (children) and 7-8.30 (adults).
The second new class is Fitness and Self Defence for children. The class will take place on a Monday between 3.30pm-4.40pm. Classes will involve fitness and self-defence work but with emphasis on fun.
Children will learn valuable discipline and self-defence techniques in a friendly and safe environment.
The cost per child per session is £3, with the option of joining the regular training sessions which are coming soon.
The sessions will not involve belts or grading, although licence/insurance will be required.
Andy will also be running a Tai Chi Qigong class on Tuesdays from 6.30pm. Tai Chi Qigong reduces stress, helps build stamina, increases vitality and enhances the immune system. It has also been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions.
Finally, learn how to meditate with a course in Zazen. Zazen means seated meditation and helps remove stress and helps you deal with stressful situations as they occur.
The course is £20 per month and spaces are limited. For more information and to book visit www.chikung4health.com or call 07811 910214 or email andy.wright@ chikung 4health.com
