A NEW memorial bench has been installed at Vivash Park in memory of Pat Hibbs, the daughter of the ex-Westbury councillor, Bill Vivash, of whom Vivash Park was named after.
The Hibbs and Vivash family have expressed their thanks to the town council for installing the bench.
They said, “We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Andrew Thomas and all of Westbury Town Council for the new bench now located at Vivash Park in memory of our mother and grandmother Pat Hibbs.
“As a family, we have lived in Westbury all our lives and we felt very proud when Westbury Town Council decided to name Vivash Park after our grandfather Bill, who was a Westbury councillor for many years.
“When our mother retired, she left for hotter climates for health reasons and spent her remaining years in northern Cyprus. Unfortunately, she passed away last year and her wish was to remain in Cyprus.
“We contacted the council on the off chance that something could be done in memory of Pat and I have to say that from the very first contact, everyone has been fantastic, and the bench fitted is a wonderful remembrance for our family. We could not have hoped for anything better.
“In this current world we find ourselves in, it seems everyone just wants to find something to complain and moan about. We want to say our local council and councillors are doing a fantastic job, and Westbury is a great place to be.”
