REVEREND Simon Gray was Inducted as Pastor of Bratton Baptist Church on Saturday 8th September.
Before becoming a Baptist Minister Simon worked as a software engineer in the telecommunications industry and the NHS. He then trained at Regent’s Park College in Oxford and has been the Pastor of churches in Milton Keynes and Bromley. Simon is married to Hilary and they have two daughters who are at secondary school.
Looking ahead, Simon said, “It is very exciting to come to the church here as it celebrates its 350th anniversary. As a family we have found that alongside a sense of history the church is very forward thinking, welcoming and relaxed. There is a really good mix of ages with lots of children and young people and a great sense of excitement as to what we believe God is doing in this place. I am looking forward to getting involved in the life of the local community and helping the church to continue to share the good news of Jesus in relevant and inspiring ways.”
Simon hopes that the church will be seen as being at the heart of the local community and will be working from the chapel in Carpenters Lane. He will be there most mornings and looks forward to people dropping in for tea or coffee, the chance to talk or just the opportunity to enjoy some peace and quiet!
