OVER £17,000 will be spent on creating a multi-play area at Westbury’s Penleigh Park.
The town council’s highways, planning and development committee unan- imously voted to allocate the funds, which were from a previous section 106 agreement.
At a recent meeting of the committee cllr Gordon King said, “I chair the play areas’ working group and it’s cyrstal clear that residual monies that were allocated to the Dartmoor Road development should be used for a multiplay area project, so we are asking you to approve £17,315 from Dartmoor Road to Penleigh Park.”
Members also agreed recommendations from the working group including that the council does not increase the number of play parks it is responsible for as it already has 12, and that it considers grant requests for the replacement of play equipment.
