BRIGHT Stars Nursery is one of a small group of early years settings in Westbury that have been open throughout Covid-19, to support children of critical key workers.
“As well as supporting children the team has been doing lots to engage with children and families at home,” says the nursery.
“Staff have used our Facebook page to share fun activities and ideas for parents to do with their children. Puppet shows and storytelling are a regular feature, enjoyed by many of the families.
“In addition staff were able to make and distribute home learning packs for children in receipt of Early Years Pupil Premium.
“Cards were made and posted to all of the children at home, saying how much they were missed, with the whole team joining in to send key messages with photographs. We celebrated stay at home picnics for VE Day and the children made decorations, such as bunting and sandwiches wrapped in brown paper, to enjoy at home.
“The nursery had an Ofsted inspection at the end of February and were thrilled to retain their Outstanding judgement, which has been awarded on the last three inspections. The setting was proud to receive a letter of recognition from Helean Hughes, Director for Education and Skills
“The setting is currently working hard in preparation for the 1st June, when they will welcome back more of the children to the nursery.”
