A NEW initiative for people and businesses to donate their unwanted computers and technology to schoolchildren, was started under lockdown by the Minister of West End Baptist Church in Westbury, Rev Ian McManus.
He explained, “A few weeks ago, I was watching a news article about how many children across the country could not access their schoolwork because they did not have access to a computer at home. I felt that something needed to be done about this and immediately thought about Westbury. And so ResurrTECHtion was born!
“We are a small group of people who want to share the love of Jesus through technology. We want to restore/upgrade computers and pass them on to families who desperately need a computer for schoolwork.
“Do you have an old computer laying around collecting dust? Then we want to hear from you. It needs to be manufactured no earlier than 2010, (but we will take older ones for parts) and it doesn’t even have to work. All the machines will be completely formatted of data so your info is safe and the distribution will be done through the schools.
We can come and collect it from your house, or you can arrange to drop it off at Crosspoint or West End Baptist Church.
If you don’t have a machine to donate, we could always use your money. We have a JustGiving page you can use: justgiving.com/ crowdfunding/resurrtechtion All the money raised will go towards parts and software for the computers.
