
THE annual Memorial Football Match in memory of Pc Mike Johnson took place last weekend with money raised going to Mike’s memorial garden at Dilton Marsh Primary School.
Mike, the beat police officer for the Westbury rural area, died of a heart attack in August of 2009 aged 46, after collapsing after jogging to work. He was a police officer for 22 years and a keen footballer.
The match, which took place at Westbury Football Ground in Meadow Lane was between the Armed Response Group and Officers from E Division.
Hi daughter Alice said, “I think to do it in dad’s memory is amazing, and I think he would have been really honoured.”
