Pupils from Westbury Junior School were busy planting bulbs last term in their latest efforts to support the community.
The group from TEAM10, the school’s community support group, planted the spring-flowering bulbs in Penleigh Park. After planting nearly 1,000 bulbs last year, they joined David Krzyzosiak, park ranger at Westbury Town Council, and Chris Boyes, the community conversations lead for Wiltshire Council, to plant more bulbs.
TEAM10 coordinator Susannah Duval said, “The weather was very unkind, with driving rain and wind, but the children were determined to get the little bulbs safely under the ground and ready for flowering next year.
“Both Chris and David commented on the resilience and enthusiasm of this amazing group of children, proving that fantastic changes can be made with the involvement of young people in the community. They have done so much over the last few years, and they are really enthusiastic about continuing to improve the environment in Westbury with the continued support of Westbury Town Council and Wiltshire Council.”
