THE Westbury Festival may soon be coming to a close but there’s still lots to look forward to, including Folk Night which officially closes the festival on Saturday 8th October.
The event is being organised by Westbury Festival committee member Radek Evans, who hopes to bring folk music into the spotlight and have regular folk concerts and open mic nights in Westbury. The event stars Kirsty Clinch.
Radek said, “I’m passionate about folk music and want to get more young people involved. Eventually I would love to organise a folk festival but that all depends on how people respond to the initial events.
“Radek Folk is all about encouraging and promoting folk music. There will be an open mic night once a month and also a concert with a headline act. I really hope it takes off because I’d love everyone to be as passionate about folk music as I am. We will also have other genres of music so I’m sure there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
“If you would like to get involved or you are a folk musician and would like to play at the concert or open mic night, please email me on evansradek@gmail.com
