ARE you a budding baker or a talented cake maker? Then why not head down to the Paragon Hall on Saturday 5th March and enter a special Great British Bake Off event hosted by Westbury Lions.
Lions’ President Jarvis Macdonald said, “All those who have been inspired by the BBC series The Great British Bake Off now have a chance to show everyone what they can do.
“The event runs from 9am – 12.30pm and entries are open to all. Categories include ‘The Showstopper’ with the theme Mother’s Day which is open to all, ‘The Technical Challenge’ for adults who will be asked to make cupcakes and then there are two children’s categories for under 9s and 9-14 year-olds who will be baking biscuits.
“There will be lots of fun with highly qualified judges and the White Horse News will be on hand to report and photograph the participants and winners.
“For those not feeling brave enough to enter the competition, why not come and offer your support on the day. Coffee and teas will be served and lots of homemade cakes will be available to buy. Plus all cakes and biscuits entered in the competition will also be sold after judging.
“All monies raised by Lions goes back into the community, helping to look after the needs of individuals and organisations in and around the Westbury area.
“So come and show Westbury your baking skills. This will be a fun event for all the family and we are sure will attract some friendly rivalry in the kitchen.”
