A LOCAL historian will be giving a talk about the Battle of the Somme this Friday in Westbury.
Tony Coutts-Britton, a fellow of the Guild of Battlefield Guides, will be giving a talk on one of the most devastating battles in history, in which over a million men were injured or killed.
The talk ‘141 Days of Courage: Remembering The Somme’ will take place at All Saints Church from 7.30pm this Friday 21st October. It is part of a series of talks by Tony throughout the centenary commemorations of the First World War. Tickets cost £6 on the door and refreshments will be provided.
