REPAIRS to the roof of the Westbury Library could soon take place after Wiltshire Council says it is expecting to receive the materials required to fix the damage this week.
The Westbury Museum, which is run by the Westbury Heritage Society and can be found upstairs at the library, had an unintended break in November of last year due to a crack in the plasterwork of the museum wall that had caused water damage which forced the museum to close for three days. Since then, the museum has been operating with a limited display space.
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Wiltshire Council cabinet member for libraries, said, “We are currently awaiting delivery of the materials required to repair the damaged roof at Westbury Library. We are expecting delivery of these items this week and we will then move to programme and complete the works.
“We appreciate the patience of both the library users and the Westbury Heritage Society whilst we have been co-ordinating these repairs.”
