FOUR year old Ruby Vaughan has raised £250 for Bitham Brook Primary School from a sale of her old toys. The money will go towards hand gel and PPE to help make the school safe when the children return.
“Ruby has managed to raise over £250!” said mum, Anna Hemingway. “With the recent talks about going back to school, she has been asking a few questions about why she hasn’t been allowed to go so I’ve told her it’s not safe and the school needs to be safe before she can return.
“She asked if the school needs money for soap and when I said yes, she said, ‘Well I have lots of toys I don’t play with; can we sell them to get pennies for my school?’
“There’s been a few people selling plants along our road and I think that’s where the idea came from; we put the toys on our drive for people to come and take a look and have raised more than £250!”
