Westbury Town Council will again hold its Christmas Window Competition this year.
The town council say, “Last year we had a great response from local business and some fantastic entries. Entries for the 2019 competition are welcomed from businesses in the town centre (Market Place, Maristow Street, Edward Street, High Street, Haynes Road and Warminster Road). The competition will be judged by the mayor on Friday 29th November and the winner will be announced at the Christmas Lights switch-on the following evening. There is a prize of £50 for the best window.
“Entries need to have a Christmas theme and should be decorated by the employees of each business.
“Westbury’s Christmas Celebration takes place on Saturday 30th November. This year includes a children’s fun fair on the High Street, leading into a street market on Maristow St and Edward St, (A few spots still left!) with food stalls in the Market Place, as well as an indoor market in All Saints Church Hall from 1pm – 7pm.
“They’ll be music and entertainment in the Market Place from 3pm – 7pm.
“If it is applicable to your business we’d encourage you to extend your opening hours on the evening or leave on your Christmas window decorations.
“Our experience shows that those shops engaging in the Christmas spirit tend to encourage more customers into their properties, so please get involved and help create a fantastic event for the town.
“If you would like to enter your business for the Christmas window competition, please email events@westburytown council.gov.uk. All entries must be received by Friday 22nd November.”
